Guest Lecture by Annegret Junker in Domain Driven Design Master course

There will be a guest lecture by Annegret Junker (speaker in JAX and OOP conferences, book author and software architecture expert) in our DDD Master Course this winter semester. They are open to anyone interested, not just the Master students or TH Köln employees.

The talk is titled “Real-World Project Journeys Using DDD” and will take place on Friday, 16.01.2026, 13:00 - 14:30 (via Zoom).

In praxis, DDD can help to design APIs and an entire environment. The talk discusses practical examples and how they helped to define understandable and well-designed APIs.

  1. The total technical API and how it becomes a business API
  2. The world-domination API and how it can be tailored nicely
  3. 40 services and no API to see - how DDD helps to combine services into sensible combinations
  4. Prototypic process and how to apply it in practice using DDD and AI

About the Speaker

Annegret Junker is Chief Software Architect at codecentric AG. She has been working for more than 30 years in software development in various roles and different domains such as automotive, insurance, and financial services. She is particularly interested in DDD, microservices and and everything related to it. She recently published the book Mastering Domain-Driven Design: Collaborative modeling with domain storytelling, event storming, and context mapping.
